The Opportunity:
Maintaining National Security is a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year mission. To support its complex intelligence and security operations, the UK Government partners with this Big4 Firm to empower critical thinking and drive value across its strategic initiatives and technology investments.
The Role:
As a Service Designer in the public sector, your mission is to transform how government services meet public needs. You bring empathy, clarity, and strategy to every interaction, blending design thinking with a deep understanding of complex government systems. This role goes beyond interfaces; it’s about redesigning entire service ecosystems to be intuitive and impactful.
From front-end design to back-end integration, you’ll ensure that each step in the user journey is seamless. With a strong grasp of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), user-centred design, and agile practices, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver thoughtful, connected experiences. This is leadership in design—balancing user needs with government requirements for a redefined public service experience.
Essential Requirements:
* Must be a sole British national with SC Clearance, with a willingness to obtain DV clearance.
* Skilled at delivering user-centred services that align user needs with business goals and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to align front-stage (user experience) with back-stage (processes and systems) to deliver seamless, impactful digital solutions that meet strategic goals, backed by full SDLC experience.
* Proficient in analysing user data and service performance to make informed design decisions and drive continuous improvements, with a strategic ability to identify and address complex service gaps.
* Skilled in creating and analysing service journeys across multiple digital touchpoints, producing detailed design artefacts that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
* Experienced in managing cross-functional teams and guiding smooth service improvements, with strong communication skills to articulate design concepts and foster stakeholder alignment.
* Familiar with agile, iterative design, with a focus on user empathy and the ability to refine solutions based on feedback and evolving requirements.
Benefits:
* Base Salary: £45,000 - £80,000 (DoE)
* Bonus: 5-10% per annum
* Cash Flex Fund: Up to £6,700
* DV Bonus: Up to £8,000 (Once DV is obtained)
