Registered Children’s Manager, Birmingham area
£37,000 - £45,000
25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays
I am recruiting a knowledgeable and experienced Registered Children’s Manager in the Stourbridge area. The successful candidate will hold a Level 5 qualification in residential Children’s care and be passionate about children’s rights, opportunities, and safeguarding. This is a new home and will need someone who is passionate about developing a quality service for our children. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of policies and procedures. The Manager is for a 2-bed home near Stourbridge.
About the role:
* Being responsible for the day-to-day operations of a children’s home
* Ensuring the environment is compliant and nurturing for the needs of the children
* Maintaining quality and leading in line with policies and procedures at all times
* Managing the staff team to excellence as well as overseeing budgets and expenditure and managing resources
* Responsible for the health and safety of all, including safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of children in your care
* Making provisions so that all children have appropriate care plans, ensuring their education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs are always met
* Encouraging and supporting children and young people to make realistic and healthy choices, enabling them to take part in significant cultural and personal activities and have their personal wishes respected
* Giving and arranging opportunities so that the children and young people are able to realize their full potential
* Working in an inclusive multi-disciplinary approach in order to safeguard the child
* To ensure children are consulted about the care they receive
* Writing and adapting policies and procedures
* Working with Ofsted in order to gain an outstanding registration
About you:
* Holder of a Residential Children’s relevant Level 5 qualification
* Full UK driving license, and willing to travel to other locations for purposes of the role, training, and meetings
* Effective proven leadership and management skills (1 year minimum)
* A minimum of 2 years recent experience of working within a children's residential setting
* Experience working with children and young people with emotional and behavioral needs
* Prior or current registration with Ofsted
* Willing to provide on-call as required
