* To stop or reduce the intake of either Drug and Alcohol and prevent further harm, to either an individual, family member or community;

The Opportunity An opportunity has arisen for an Alcohol Counselling and Support Worker in the Perth & Kinross Integrated Drugs & Alcohol Recovery Team. As the successful candidate you will work with people to enhance their quality of life and personal resilience through their engagement in opportunities for personal development and social inclusion within the wider community. The post holder will develop, implement and facilitate community-based opportunities with a range of agencies and services including multiple third sector initiatives. The ability to develop, co-ordinate and deliver focused group work, self-development courses and training sessions within communities will also be essential. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the assessment and treatment of patients referred. The utilisation of strategies will be a key part of the treatment delivered by the post holder. The focus of the treatment provided will be the recovery of the patient. The post holder will have a role in liaising with social work teams, primary care, residential units and other partner agencies as part of the post. The Perth & Kinross Integrated Drugs & Alcohol Recovery Team includes community substance use team which works across the area and Kinclaven in patient substance misuse unit based at Murray Royal Hospital Your performance must comply with the national "Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009" and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
