Engineering Manager - BrightonDue to significant growth in our Water Sector, we are recruiting for an Engineering Manager to take a Strategic lead role on our CMDP framework with Southern Water (SWS).
CMDP, a Joint Venture between Costain and MWHT, have been selected by Southern Water to deliver essential infrastructure solutions for its next AMP8 investment programme. The award is for an initial seven-year term worth at least £500m to Costain, with an option to extend by up to five years.
The strategic delivery partner framework will deliver upgrades to water and wastewater assets, including treatment sites, pumping stations and reservoirs, during Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) and beyond. Southern Water expects that its AMP8 programme, which runs from 2025 to 2030, will be the largest it has ever undertaken.
About the Role
The Engineering Manager role reports to and works alongside the Head of Engineering and will be a key member of the CMDP Design Leadership Team accountable for the delivery of engineering solutions across the AMP8 water and wastewater programme of work from initial definition of need through optioneering, solution development, detail design and construction support.
This key role will be based at CMDP's core Falmer (Brighton) design office and will involve home working and supporting both remote and office based Costain and MWHT design teams in Manchester. The key accountabilities of the role will be to lead timely design production and provide strong resource management at Framework level.

Role Requirements
Significant project engineering management experience in a multi-discipline engineering design contracting/consultancy environment
Significant experience in the Water/Wastewater Sector
Able to demonstrate cross discipline engineering understanding and interactions for engineering, procurement and project management
Thorough knowledge of the major project delivery process from work winning to project handover
Strong process safety, quality and environmental leadership focus
Strong knowledge and understanding of Project Controls, including Schedule, Cost, Risk and Change Management
Collaborative, innovative and agile
Experienced customer facing capability with an ability to develop and influence relationships
Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering related subject
Preferably chartered
