SEN Teaching Assistant Full time Permanent placement £18, 000 - £22,000 Based in SN2 A fantastic opportunity to work within a multi academy trust, you will be working in one of the Primary schools where students have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and SEND. The children need support staff who can bring a nurturing nature, someone with a sense of humour, who’s really good at listening and understands that our learning journeys are a bit different. As a Teaching Assistant some of the key fields you will be responsible for include (but are not limited to): Participate in activities designed to meet the emotional, physical and learning needs of individual children and groups of children, including those with SEND Contribute to the monitoring and delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) Monitor CYP’s responses to learning activities and encourage them to take an interest in their own learning Develop and maintain effective relationships with individual CYP and groups to ensure that they achieve learning targets Your Experience Our person specification attached will contain the full details, but it is really important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have everything desirable, there are some essential features our appointee will need to have and these include: Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills, relevant to the post NVQ 2 or willingness to undertake NVQ2 EYFS/Primary training and/or experience Experience of working with SEND children Good behaviour management skills Relevant experience of supporting children with emotional, physical or learning needs Commencing in September 2024, you will be working full time between the hours of 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only.
