Birmingham Children and Young People’s Partnership is looking for a Partnerships and Programme Manager, who will play a key role in contributing to our ambition to make Birmingham a great place to grow up.
Birmingham Children and Young People’s Partnership
The Birmingham Children and Young People’s Partnership is a collaboration between Birmingham City Council, Birmingham Children’s Trust, Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board, West Midlands Police & Crime Commissioner, West Midlands Police, and the Birmingham Voluntary Services Council.
The partnership works together as one, with a set of shared priorities that everyone is behind. The partnership is committed to working with families and communities, and improving outcomes for babies, children, and young people across Birmingham.

About the role of Partnerships and Programmes Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to play a vital role in delivering our programmes. As the Partnerships and Programmes Manager, you will be working with multi-agency partners from the local authority, health, police, and voluntary sector. You will play a key role in the coordination of work associated with our citywide commitment to children’s rights through the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities and Communities initiative.
You will oversee the day-to-day management of planning and delivery, working across Council directorates and with partner organisations to support smooth running and the involvement of individuals and teams from across our partnership. You will work alongside senior officers, managers, and practitioners from across our partnership, while building and sustaining collaborative relationships through online and face to face interactions with a wide range of stakeholders.
The Partnerships and Programmes Manager will report directly to the Head of Strategic Governance & Planning and will work closely with system leaders and senior managers from across the partnership.
About you
You are a skilled project and programme manager and confident negotiator, with knowledge and experience of working with multi-agency partnerships, ideally within the children, young people and/or adult services system. An excellent communicator with proven experience of leading, motivating and influencing teams, you will enjoy collaboration and be adept at building and sustaining relationships across professional partnerships. Dynamic and detail-focused, you will have great organisation, planning and scheduling skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple workstreams and activities. Above all, you will be committed to children and young people’s rights and life chances, and excited by the challenges and opportunities of this exciting role.
