Job Responsibilities:
Credit Portfolio Management
1. Responsible for credit and risk management aspects of assigned relationships under the direction of the Senior Banker.
2. Researches and analyzes financial information to evaluate a borrower's creditworthiness.
3. Coordinate preparation and execution of appropriate legal documentation supporting credit approvals.
4. Monitor clients and portfolios for changes in risk.
5. Provide daily monitoring, follow-up and periodic risk reporting related to high risk credit and custody clients.
6. Facilitate periodic updates of client credit quality to Credit Risk as requested.
7. Complete new/existing client risk assessments as required.
8. Maintain organized, current credit files for assigned clients.
Credit Administration
1. Work with appropriate bank personnel to accurately book and maintain credit exposures.
2. Provide administrative and database support for tracking and maintaining client data/limits.
3. Provide backup for daily credit administration functions.
4. Communicate effectively with members of the relationship management and Corporate & Institutional Services Risk Management teams.
5. Ensure proper tracking of internal business metrics.
Presentations
1. Makes written and verbal presentations of credit requests and client/portfolio details to credit approval committees.
2. Delivery is confident, knowledgeable and conversational in tone.
3. Responds to questions with follow-up completed on open issues.
Teamwork
1. Proactively seek out internal partners that share joint clients.
2. Coach less-experienced co-workers and trainees.
3. Support new product and new market entry initiatives.
4. Support risk mitigation strategies for higher risk global custody clients.
Knowledge/Skills:
1. Knowledge of finance and accounting
2. Good analytical and communications skills
3. Highly detail oriented
4. Basic banking and investment industry knowledge
5. International awareness and interest
6. Comfortable with legal and regulatory issues
7. PC literate – Excel/Word
Experience Required:
1. Prior banking/financial analysis experience
2. Bachelor’s degree with finance and or accounting course work preferred
3. Strong demonstrated analytical skills
4. Credit training preferred
5. Familiarity with collective investment schemes and foreign exchange
