Job: Customer Support Assistant
Location: Birmingham, Hybrid
Salary: £24,500 - £25,000
We are seeking a dedicated Customer Support Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to both new and existing customers. The role involves proactively supporting our sales teams in the development of new business and maintaining high levels of service to existing accounts.
The Role:
1. Accurately process customer orders and raise invoices using our internal and external web-based systems.
2. Communicate with customer merchandising teams regarding deliveries, inventory levels, and general queries via phone and email.
3. Attend customer sales meetings as directed and coordinate follow-up actions to ensure correct product specifications and timely delivery of goods in line with customer SLAs.
4. Assess and organise customers’ new order requirements, obtaining all product information relevant for completion of quotes and new line forms.
5. Set up new products and pricing for customers using spreadsheets or web portal systems. Upload and submit images, copy, and content accurately.
6. Manage customer web portal-based systems for order processing, inventory control, and merchandising.
7. Work with internal departments to ensure customer private label deadlines are achieved, resolving any issues as appropriate.
8. Complete administration procedures as directed by the sales manager or head of department in accordance with specific customer and product requirements.
9. Create and maintain sales reports and data using internal IT systems and MS Office packages.
10. Fully comply with all H&S and other relevant regulations and legislation.
Essential Skills and Experience:
11. Clear understanding of relevant procedures and ways of working.
12. High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Good analytical and numerical ability.
14. Conscientious team player with high level of self-motivation.
15. Analytical and problem-solving ability.
16. Previous office experience in a similar environment, preferably in sales.
17. Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision, seeking advice where necessary to establish the correct course of action.
18. Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
19. Customer-focused approach with experience handling customer inquiries and complaints.
20. Ability to prioritise and meet required deadlines, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure.
21. Knowledge of SAP
