Role Overview As Senior EFL Teacher, you will lead a team of teachers while delivering high-quality English language lessons to international students at various proficiency levels. This role combines teaching and team leadership, requiring you to mentor teachers, coordinate educational activities, and ensure the successful implementation of the IH London Young Learners syllabus. You will be responsible for overseeing teacher development and the smooth operation of the summer programme, making it an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a lasting impact on both students and staff. Camp Locations & Dates Frensham : 9th July – 13th August, International House Frensham, Frensham Heights School (8-17 year olds) Tavistock : 9th July – 20th August, International House Tavistock, Mount Kelly School (12-17 year olds) Payment £656.81 per week including holiday pay. Normal working hours are up to 44 hours per week, typically spread over a 6-day week, with 1 full day off per week. Contract 1–6 weeks, depending on location. Key Responsibilities • Teaching : Plan and deliver engaging, communicative, and task-based English lessons to young learners, incorporating digital resources and creating opportunities for language practice outside the classroom. • Team Leadership : Supervise, mentor, and support a team of EFL teachers, guiding them in lesson planning, classroom management, and administrative duties. • Classroom Management : Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment, implementing effective strategies to maintain discipline and encourage collaboration. • Student Welfare & Safety : Actively promote the welfare of students and ensure a safe, respectful environment, adhering to all safeguarding and child protection policies. • Administrative Duties : Complete all required paperwork, including attendance registers and reports, and participate in staff meetings and CPD sessions. • Teacher Development : Organise and lead teacher training workshops, providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure high teaching standards. Essential Requirements • Cambridge CELTA / Trinity TESOL Certificate, PGCE, or equivalent • Proficient English speaker • Experience teaching Young Learners • Experience in a residential setting • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organisational skills • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously Desirable • YL extension to CELTA • Trinity DipTESOL or Cambridge DELTA • Experience in materials development or writing own materials • Ability to speak other languages • First Aid qualified • Safeguarding training What We Offer Free Meals & Refreshments: Enjoy 3 delicious meals a day, with access to tea, coffee, and snacks throughout your shift.
