To be safe and competent in the use of therapy equipment. To refine treatment techniques in line with the most recent evidence of clinical effectiveness by evaluating and implementing key developments and promoting discussion within service. To provide complex information to the patients, clinicians and other agencies to assist in decision-making, using persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathic and re-assurance skills. To work with a defined caseload of patients with a broad range of health needs, using knowledge to carry out assessments, using standardised tools, setting objectives and implementing appropriate treatment, as part of the holistic care plan. To formulate an individual management/treatment plan for each patient using clinical reasoning skills and utilising a wide range of physical, sensory and cognitive treatment skills following analysis of information received from client, carers and referrer and any other professionals involved in the patients care as necessary. To ensure own and other staffs interventions are evaluated and treatment is modified in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers and other professionals to promote understanding of aims of therapy to ensure a consistent approach to patient care To have working knowledge of equipment, minor adaptations and resources including activities of daily living equipment, therapy and rehabilitation aids, moving and handling equipment and a basic knowledge of wheelchair provision in order to compensate for unresolved functional deficits, in line with local resources, guidelines and legislation. To assist with developing highly organised systems to ensure reporting/reviewing of data and audit results, ensuring action plans are written and achieved where needed. Actively participate in projects across the Organisation. Other Responsibilities The post holder will be expected to participate in a rota system of shift working to cover a 6- day a week service.
