At JTS, we’re tackling critical infrastructure challenges across the water and wastewater industry, and we’re looking for a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to help drive our success.
The Role:
As a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in the design, review, and delivery of innovative temporary works solutions. Working across a diverse portfolio of projects in London and the Thames Valley, you’ll apply your expertise to develop practical, safety-focused designs that meet the highest standards of compliance and quality. You’ll also mentor junior engineers, contribute to process improvements, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

What you’ll be doing:
* Leading the design and delivery of temporary works solutions, including scaffolding, formwork, falsework, and bespoke structures.
* Reviewing and approving designs to ensure compliance with BS 5975, Eurocodes, and UK Health & Safety standards.
* Providing expert guidance to project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
* Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical development within the team.
* Conducting site visits, assessing reactive situations, and offering rapid, effective solutions.
* Driving continuous improvement in engineering practices and design processes at JTS.
About You:
* A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
* Proven experience in temporary works design, ideally at a senior level.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, TEKLA, SCIA, or similar design tools.
* Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and Health & Safety regulations.
* Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
* Chartered or actively working towards chartership (ICE, IStructE preferred).
