Band 5 Staff nurse, 48 hours per week fixed term covering maternity leave, x2 posts available.
We are seeking a motivated registered Nurse to join our team on a fixed term basis. We are a 30 bedded medical ward caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
You should be highly committed to best practice, able to work within a team environment, and possess outstanding communication skills. Our ethos is to provide the highest standard of care with kindness and compassion.

Main duties of the job
1. Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision.
2. Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice in the unit.
3. Support patients and their families during their diagnosis and treatment.
4. Liaise with other departments both at WCH and CIC to ensure the safe transfer of patients.
The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.
Healthcare professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with active registration.
* ILS or Equivalent.
Experience
* Work as a student nurse or general nursing in the NHS or equivalent.
* Coronary Care experience.
* Supporting students.
* Budgetary awareness.
Knowledge
* NMC code of professional conduct.
* Knowledge of safeguarding issues.
* Equality legislation and best practice.
Skills and Aptitudes
* Ability to work as a member of a team, without close supervision.
* Developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to demonstrate the compassionate values and behaviours needed for dignified care.
* Teaching skills.
