We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Manager, which incorporates the Product Owner / Manager responsibilities for leading the Project Controls Office technical team. You will work to define and implement a desirable, feasible, practical and sustainable Project Controls and Planning solution with regard to SAP, P6 and Dassian for Electronics UK.
You will also interface on a technical basis across all the functions and leadership levels involved in the Business Unit and project team structures, to ensure the optimum overall system performance and strategy. The Project Controls solution will take into account the competing needs of functions, scheduling and forward load planning, prioritisation and partner co-ordination, and underpins the project and business performance reporting.
The role is a mixture of home based and onsite (UK-wide team so this can be your local Leonardo site).
Responsibilities:
* Provide subject matter expertise across the business for Planning, Scheduling and Project Controls
* Make recommendations which have a significant impact on the business to increase effectiveness and improved ways of working
* Use specialist knowledge and experience to generate and develop insights, new ideas and approaches for system and performance improvements
* Define and develop the Project Controls Product Roadmap
* Utilise knowledge of external best practice and current developments in planning, scheduling, schedule risk and project controls to identify and assess risks and opportunities
* Manage, motivate and develop the project controls office technical team to contribute to services and the delivery of business objectives
* Lead, coach and develop others within the business in functional and technical areas, influencing the decision by different lines of business to deploy the solution
* Resolve complex relationship and functional issues
* Maintain and develop specialist/professional knowledge base and networks
* Manage critical relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
* Develop appropriate key performance indicators, metrics and measures the business can use to confidently inform decisions with respect schedule and project performance.
* Extensive knowledge of the application of Project Management, Scheduling / Planning and Control techniques and the supporting functions in the business (Extensive experience in the industry)
* Strong ability to understand technical complexity and to facilitate the trade-offs between process change across functions with technical IT based solutions
* Proven change management ability including dealing with high levels of uncertainty
* Proactive mindset and problem-solving skills to address potential issues and ensure optimal system performance
* Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the required result
* Excellent written and verbal skills with demonstrated ability to engage with and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels through multiple methods of communication
* Extensive knowledge of Planning and Scheduling in different industries and ability to apply best practice from them
* Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders at all levels of seniority
* Commercial and financial acumen with strong negotiation skills to develop the 3rd party support for the solution
* Experience in a similar role at the early stages of solution implementation.
