Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
To contribute to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the rent debit and maintaining rent accounts on QL.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Accurate recording and processing of the various types of rent payments, along with other receipts to the organisation.
2. Banking and reconciling of cash and cheque payments received at Ongo House along with other income received into the organisation.
3. Setting up and calculating new Direct Debits and amendments to existing Direct Debits.
4. Processing various types of adjustments and refunds onto rent accounts.
5. To undertake appropriate investigative work and take steps to rectify issues with missing payments.
6. Auditing of rent accounts.
7. Reconciling of various suspense accounts.
8. Ensuring the correct running of the rent debit.
9. To identify and add the correct property service charges.
10. To deal with enquiries from tenants and liaise with internal staff members/teams.
11. Reviewing of prepaid credits on a quarterly basis.
12. To make effective and proper use of Ongo Homes ICT systems in accordance with the duties of the post.
13. To undertake a full and active role in the implementation of own personal development.
14. Any other duties commensurate with the role’s level of responsibility.

* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
* Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms.
* Completes tasks to a high standard. Demonstrates the necessary level of expertise required to complete tasks.
* Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time to successfully meet deadlines.
* Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report.
Your training plan
Ongo is seeking an enthusiastic apprentice who will gain a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration. Your study day will be conducted online via Zoom.
