About this role
UWE Centre for Sport is looking for a Fitness Instructor on a casual basis to cover shifts (mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends). If you have the passion, skills and ambition to join us as a Fitness Instructor, there’s never been a more exciting time to join.
You will be supervising the gym whilst on shift, taking gym inductions, creating programmes by design and instructing Synergy classes as well as the day-to-day operations of the gym.
We are looking for a fitness instructor who has the ability to deliver a safe and effective class, inspire all customers, and ensure all customer expectations are exceeded. You must have:
* A real focus on customer service.
* Commitment and enthusiasm.
* Knowledge of health and safety.
* Be a great team player.
About you
Do you have enthusiasm and an understanding for sport and enjoy working in a customer-facing environment, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including university staff, students and members of the general public? Can you demonstrate initiative and an understanding of equal opportunities and be an outgoing, enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude?
UWE Centre for Sport prides itself on knowing our members on a first name basis. Our gym is for all fitness levels from beginner to more advanced. Whatever our members' fitness level, we aim to create an atmosphere where everyone will feel comfortable at all times. Our friendly staff are always at hand to support and are available to tailor programmes to suit.
We are looking for a Fitness Instructor who can demonstrate:
* Minimum requirement Level 2 gym instruction.
* Experience working in the industry.
* High standard of personal presentation.
* Confidence to interact with members.
