Job Description
The Fleet Controller to oversee the management of vehicles, ensuring that legal requirements are adhered to, they are roadworthy and driver work within the EU driver regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a transport savvy individual to grow within Stobart's retail sector.
The role requires effective site management in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the board.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 07.00-17.00
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Key Duties of a Fleet Controller:
* Ensuring that all tachographs are logged in and sent for analysis. Infringements to be signed within 14 days of receipt by driver and retained in driver’s personal file with appropriate disciplinary action taken against offenders. Monthly missing mileage report analysed and actioned within 1 week of receipt.
* Site management, ensuring that the depot is efficient and clean, with all units and trailers parked correctly, vehicles are clean and tidy, and the site is kept to the high standards of ESL.
* Management of depot operations staff to ensure that daily and weekly tasks are carried out to the high standards.
* To ensure the fleet to operating safely and legally.
* Liaise with the onsite VMU and ESL fleet team to progress VOR, Servicing and MOT.
* To manage the flow of trailers through the depot.
* Weekly cab checks to be completed confirming that the units are, clean & tidy inside and out, the mobile phone is in the cab and working.
* Fuel cards is accounted for, and the vehicles odometer reading is taken and logged.
* Weekly vehicle cab check reporting.
* Check Microlise tablet in place and working.
* Depot reports and conference calls relating to fleet to be completed within agreed timescales.
* Ensure all vehicles are legal and roadworthy, with any defects reported and actioned according to company procedure. Service and MOT programmes must be always be adhered too and records kept up to date.
Qualifications
* Previous experience within a Transport/Fleet Management position is highly desirable.
* Health and Safety knowledge and understanding.
* Working knowledge of MS Packages - word, excel etc.
* Knowledge of WTD & EU Drivers Hours Regulations.
* Able to work in a pressurised environment with tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
* Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
