Main duties of the job
Manage the repeat prescribing system to ensure an accurate, timely andefficient service.
The Practice is a paper-light environment,and the main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to scan and summariseRead Code relevant information from external correspondence in to the Practicecomputer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice summarisingprotocol.
Support and deputise for other members of the administration team whenrequired.

Located on the outskirts of Ipswich town centre, Cardinal Medical Practice is the largest medical practice in Suffolk and was formed as a result of a merger between Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road Surgeries. The practice is vastly dedicated to offering high quality care to a population of approximately 30,000 patients.
The practice has a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's, 3 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators and additional healthcare professionals. The team is supported by Management and a large administrative team.

RepeatPrescribing System
Deal withrequests for patients for repeat issues of their medication
Ensure theprescribing is carried out in a cost effective and safe way and patients onlyreceive what they need.
Ensurepatients medication is prescribed to optimise the dose.
Remove anydiscontinued medication from the prescribing screen under GP supervision
Checkpatients records to ensure they have had the necessary health checks and bloodtests needed.
Maximisethe efficiency of the practice by checking patient alerts and dealing with themas part of the repeat prescribing service
Reviewpatients records to ensure they receive regular medication reviews asappropriate.
Assist theGP Prescribing lead to meet prescribing targets by switching patients to morecost effective medication.
Liaisewith pharmacies in respect of patient queries.
Manage thestock of prescriptions and prescription pads to ensure the clinical staff haveaccess to supplies
