The firm has enjoyed substantial growth in recent years and are looking to on-board a management accountant supporting the firm's Financial Controller to support their growing client base. Your new role
The successful candidate will support the firm's Financial Controller in producing the management accounts, balance sheets and all relevant reports ensuring a quality service is delivered to all clients. The key duties of the role include:
1. Full ownership of the monthly management accounting cycle for your hotel portfolio.
2. Prepare monthly/quarterly VAT returns and assist with VAT inspections as required.
3. Reviewing the work of the Finance Assistant, providing coaching and development, and working to improve efficiency of daily processes.
4. Overall responsibility for Bank Reconciliation and Accounts Payable controls, supporting the Finance Assistant with process improvements, and in reaching resolution for any outstanding issues.
5. Preparation of year-end audit files, and liaising with auditors during clients’ external audits.
6. Ensurepliance with policies, procedures and audit requirements by maintaining robust controls.
7. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, helping you and your team generate ideas to develop processes and controls.
8. Dealing with ad hoc queries and requests from hotel and client teams.
9. Assist the Financial Controllers in developing systems and process controls to provide a robust control environment which meets client needs
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have experience working within either the hospitality or hotel industry and hold or be working toward a professional such as ICAS / ACCA / CIMA. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing more junior members of staff, boast a high degree of IT skills and be an excellentmunicator both written and verbally. The ideal candidate will also have experience producing management accounts with full end-to-end ownership and befortable in a client-facing role.
