IT Asset Manager is required by Logic Engagements to work for our client, a prestigious organisation based in Cambridge (Hybrid working - circa 2 days a week in the office).
This role is responsible for the management of the organisation's IT assets throughout their entire lifecycle; this entails ensuring compliance, managing asset inventories, usage and disposal, and looking at ways to maximise value and optimise the total cost of ownership.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing the asset lifecycle, ensuring the acquisition, allocation, and retirement is carried out in line with best practice approaches.
2. Identify, manage and escalate any risks that breach licensing terms to maintain software compliance.
3. Managing all asset support and maintenance contracts through the renewals process and checking contract terms and conditions annually.
4. Managing commercial support activity carried out by the Team.
5. Creating and improving existing asset management, commercial support policies, procedures, processes and toolsets.
6. Contributing and helping improve associated vendor management.
7. Continually identify and implement methods to optimise the Group's IT assets through retrieval, redeployment and working with suppliers to achieve full efficiency.
8. Maintaining professional knowledge and expertise by keeping abreast of trends in the IT industry and in IT asset management.
In order to be successful for this position you will need to demonstrate the following experience:
1. Previous background working as an IT Asset Manager/Software Asset Manager having worked for an organisation with multi-million commercial spend.
2. Previous experience leading/managing teams - preferred.
3. Licensing knowledge of Tier 1 software vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM, Adobe.
4. Knowledge of best practice IT asset management methodologies.
5. Strong influencing, inter-personal and stakeholder management skills.
6. Experience of using a market-leading asset management tool such as SNOW.
7. Experience of budget management and commercially savvy.
8. Able to work in Cambridge two days a week.
