Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Are you dynamic, passionate, innovative and driven? Are you seeking to join a Trust that prides itself on patient care, learning and rapid career progression?
The Royal Devon is seeking to appoint a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our services based at Royal Devon and Exeter (RDE) hospital in Exeter. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to develop services in our Obstetrics and Gynaecology department.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
This is a new full-time post which has arisen from a need to address increasing demand for our gynaecology outpatient activities. The post-holder will have a job plan with clinical sessions which align with the needs of the department in managing gynaecology waiting lists and 2 week wait services. An ability to manage benign gynaecology conditions and perform outpatient procedures will be required. The role includes a regular antenatal clinic and labour ward sessions. The post-holder will have excellent obstetric skills and an interest in complex maternity care is desirable. The on-calls are non-resident and obstetric only. The rota is currently 1 in 8 and there is a separate gynaecology on-call consultant.
The successful applicant will be part of a friendly, hard-working, and motivated team dedicated to continuous development, improvement and delivery of excellent care. To support this, you'll be encouraged and supported to participate in exciting, innovative and new service development projects within the department according to service requirements and your special interests and skills.
