We are looking for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Sutton. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist setting where you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of students who need additional support. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday and the hours are from 8.30am-3.30pm. Our PRU School offers a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space for students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. The School focus on building resilience, re-engaging students with learning, and helping them develop the skills they need to succeed. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Develop trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and academic growth. Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs. Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students overcome barriers to learning. Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment. Implement behaviour management strategies with empathy and consistency. Support students in building social, emotional, and life skills. Work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to deliver holistic support. We are seeking someone who: Is patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for working with vulnerable young people. Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (preferred but not essential). Can manage challenging behaviours calmly and professionally.
