An exciting opportunity has become available for a Deputy Unit Manager in our JAG accredited Endoscopy at Royal Stoke.
Applications are open for B6 registered nurses and above with 3 years post-registration experience, of which 2 years have been in endoscopy in the NHS and 1 year of taking charge.
We seek dynamic, innovative, and dedicated individuals with a strong background in the specialty and exceptional leadership skills, who have a passion to progress in management.
Main Duties of the Job
The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical areas, including assessment of care needs, development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, and setting of standards on a shift basis and in the authorised absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse. The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will participate in innovation and evidence-based nursing practice through professional leadership and support the clinical team in close liaison with the Sister/Charge Nurse and the Senior Staff Nurse for Quality. The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will act as a credible and professional role model and encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential. They will have delegated responsibility for operational and management issues in the authorised absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse and take on the leadership of specific projects as agreed with the Sister/Charge Nurse.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC registration, diploma in nursing, evidence of a degree in nurse-related studies, 2 years experience at senior nurse level.
Experience
* 3 years post-registration, 1 year of management leadership, experience in a leadership role, good communication skills.
Skills and Knowledge
* Teaching qualification or experience of teaching in the clinical area, formal leadership and management training.
* Able to use own initiative, work as a team, effective communication.
