Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Game Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in AAA game development, and at least one shipped FPS title from concept to final release. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Unreal Engine 5 and have a deep understanding of FPS mechanics, including weapon 3Cs, camera systems, character movement, and controls. You will work alongside a talented team of designers, engineers, and artists to create an exceptional gameplay experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of core gameplay mechanics for an FPS title, from initial concept to final implementation.
* Collaborate with other designers, programmers, and artists to implement key systems such as weapon mechanics (e.g., recoil impulse, aim down sights, reloading sequences, secondary fire), camera systems, character movement, and controls.
* Own the design of complex, dynamic gameplay systems, ensuring they are fun, balanced, and work well within the overall game design.
* Work closely with animators and VFX teams to integrate animations and visual effects into weapon and character systems.
* Write clear, detailed design documentation and provide technical guidance to other team members on design implementation.
* Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and high-quality feature delivery within project milestones.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Game Designer in AAA game development.
* At least one shipped FPS title with full development experience, from concept to final release.
* Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 and a strong understanding of its tools and workflows.
* Extensive experience with weapon 3Cs, including handling mechanics such as recoil impulse, aim down sights, reloading sequences, secondary fire, and more.
* Strong understanding of camera systems, character movement, and controls in FPS games.
* Hands-on experience with integrating animations and VFX into gameplay mechanics.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design ideas and technical requirements.
* Passion for FPS games, with a keen eye for gameplay balance and player experience.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
