Materials Programme / Supply Chain Programme Manager
An international leading defence business is currently recruiting for a Materials Programme / Supply Chain Programme Manager on a full-time permanent basis in the Greater London area or Buckinghamshire (hybrid working arrangements).
Role: Material Programme / Supply Chain Programme Manager

Key Responsibilities:
1. Developing and executing material programme plans and subcontract management plans (together with the Supply Chain team).
2. Strategic thinking with tactical application of those strategies to programmes.
3. Accountable for developing material strategies.
4. Developing and leading planning-related proposal activities including task descriptions and bases of estimates.
5. In conjunction with engineering, developing accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) from the technical baseline within a few days of proposal kick-off, controlling changes in the BOM during the proposal process, and promptly flowing any changes to material estimating to develop a strategy for representative costs.
6. Developing accurate materials estimates.
7. Partnering with programmes and engineering to navigate obsolescence, long lead, and last time buy material situations to ensure programme schedules are met.
8. Actively engaging in proposals.
9. Accountable for applying material strategy to bids and proposals.
10. Managing material actual cost vs should cost.
11. Accountable for decision making in the make/buy/where process.
12. Developing and executing risk/opportunity plans to meet programme objectives.
13. Collaborating with supply chain functions for support as needed.
14. Developing and monitoring performance metrics and proactively addressing programme and functional issues.
Key Skills Required:
1. Experience managing to a budget.
2. Experience collaborating with the Subcontract Manager to review statements of work (SOW) that are complete and conform to programme requirements.
3. Experience in electronics/aerospace hardware applications as well as knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes (assembly, integration, and test).
4. Experience converting business area and customer requirements into executable strategies.
5. Experience leading in an Integrated Programme Team (IPT) environment.
6. Knowledge of Defence contracting.
