Situation:
The Civils & Infrastructure team at Ford & Stanley Talent Services are working in partnership with Network Rail to source a recent Building Surveying or Civil Engineering graduate to join their Route Asset Management team on a 6-month fixed term contract as an Assistant Asset Engineer, covering maternity leave.
The successful candidate will be able to schedule examinations, inspections, monitoring and assessment of assets and the evaluation of the reports in accordance with the policy, systems & standards.
You will be putting your knowledge of building surveying into practice to help prioritise and manage maintenance and renewal works across a portfolio of 3000+ assets including some of the most iconic stations in the UK.

Opportunity Information:
Job Role: Assistant Asset Engineer.
Working practice: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: GBP27,000 per annum (6 month FTC).

Key Responsibilities:
* Support application of asset management processes in accordance with functional policy.
* Schedule examinations, inspections, monitoring and assessment of assets and the evaluation of the reports in accordance with functional policy, systems and standards.
* Specify and prioritise actions to address defects, comments and other issues raised in the reports.
* Oversee the development, implementation and handover of prioritised work items to enable required outputs to be realised.
* Undertake engineering analysis and risk assessments of assets or asset components to support the asset management process and scheme developments.
* Monitor and evaluate asset condition and capability trend data and failure precursors to examination, maintenance, strengthening, risk mitigation and renewal plans to efficiently achieve corporate objectives.
Candidate Essentials:
* HNC/HND degree qualification in Building Surveying or Civil Engineering.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of relevant engineering policies and standards.
* Understanding of safety management & risk assessment techniques.
