The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor will form part of the existing EHS team to assist the EHS Manager on all matters relating to occupational health & safety, general safety, environmental and wellbeing at the Brimsdown site.

At Brimsdown, due to the nature of the work undertaken, the site is subject to The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations, categorised as Upper Tier. This further emphasises the importance that all our people must strictly adhere to safety procedures, including completing site induction before working on site, attending mandatory training, and keeping up to date with any mandated EHS related e-learning.
Your responsibilities:
1. Provide early warning and planning guidance to businesses, and site leadership regarding any matters that could impact on safety.
2. Ensure compliance with Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations, local legislation, internal safety policies, procedures and programs.
3. Deal with day-to-day EHS related operational issues, e.g. risk assessments and responding to general queries.
4. Initiate, facilitate and support Management of Change (MoC) assessment processes.
5. Ensure risk reduction and mitigation actions are implemented effectively through verification auditing.
6. Co-ordinate and provide a lead to the EHS audit programme in support of maintaining the company ISO and other established compliance standards.
Requirements for the role:
1. Previous EHS experience / proven background in an industrial, process driven or engineering setting.
2. Minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate and working towards a Diploma or similar H&S Qualification.
3. Understanding of EHS legislation including differing risk assessment methodologies - HAZOP, LOPA, COSHH & Ergonomic.
4. Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, COMAH, COSHH and Environmental Permitting.
5. Ability to provide innovative solutions to problems.
6. Ability to learn and follow procedures.
