A leading sports broadcasting organisation is looking for an RF Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Split between on-site work at events and their UK base, you will work as part of team, responsible for the deployment, commissioning and maintenance of radio frequency (RF) systems used for the radios and cameras at the events. When you are at the base in the UK, you will configure systems, monitor incoming data, video and audio during the testing phase and live broadcasts. You will configure and support the systems that allow the distribution of video multicasts and telemetry data, this will involve troubleshooting issues quickly and efficiently. To be considered for this role, it is important that candidates are driven and can work well within a close-knit team. A degree in a broadcasting/telecommunications/electronic engineering discipline or equivalent is required as is experience of either working within a broadcasting or communications environment as an Engineer. Knowledge of RF technology such as COFDM, spectrum analysis and spectrum management is also important as is experience in TCP/IP ethernet networks, along with a solid understanding of networking within fibre infrastructure. Excellent fault-finding skills in radio frequency (RF), networking, fibre optics is a must with a good understanding of technical wiring diagrams. An added bonus would be full competency in OTDR testing, fusion splicing, fibre termination and the installation of fibre optic cables. Previous experience from within the broadcast industry is highly preferred. Please note, this role will involve frequent travel overseas and a driving licence is required.
