JOB SUMMARY The Coordinator, BIM for Themed Attractions and Show Sets is responsible for managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout the design and handover phases of themed entertainment projects. This role focuses on integrating and organizing digital 3D models for complex environments such as theme parks, immersive attractions, and show sets, ensuring that all project stakeholders collaborate effectively and that high standards of design, accuracy, and project delivery are maintained. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of 3D design, project coordination, and BIM management specific to the unique needs of themed attractions, including intricate set designs, creative elements such as organic shapes, and complex design workflows with high fidelity models. Role & Responsibilities BIM Coordination and Management: Lead the development, implementation, and management of BIM models for themed attractions and show sets. Ensure all project models are accurate, up to date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain a collaborative environment between design, engineering, and construction teams. Model Integration and Clash Detection: Integrate models from multiple disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP, and show-specific elements like scenery, props, and animatronics). Conduct regular clash detection and coordination reviews, identifying and resolving conflicts in the 3D models before construction. Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate regular BIM coordination meetings between the project team, consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure all components are aligned. Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM-related questions and issues, ensuring communication flows smoothly between all parties. Model Quality Control: Establish and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and best practices to ensure model accuracy and consistency. Perform quality checks on models to ensure that they comply with project requirements, design intent, and technical specifications. Support Project Teams: Assist design and production teams with the development of detailed 3D models for show sets, ride layouts, staging, and other thematic elements. Support project teams by providing expertise on BIM workflows, model creation, and coordination issues related to themed entertainment. Documentation and Deliverables: Ensure timely delivery of BIM documentation, including 2D drawings, 3D visualizations, and construction-ready models. Prepare and manage accurate as-built models at project closeout for handover to operations and maintenance teams. Training and Development: Provide training and support for project teams on BIM tools, processes, and best practices. Stay up to date with the latest BIM software developments and trends in the themed entertainment industry. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building Design Management, or a related field. Certification in BIM technologies (preferred). Minimum 3-5 years of experience in BIM coordination. Familiarity with the specific challenges and requirements of themed construction projects, including show set integration and creative design processes. Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. Experience with clash detection and coordination workflows using Navisworks Manage or similar tools. Knowledge of 3D modeling software like Rhino, SketchUp, or Maya (preferred for creative elements). Familiarity with construction documentation and detailing processes for complex themed environments. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers, and contractors. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving design and coordination challenges. Experience working on large-scale themed entertainment projects such as theme parks, immersive experiences, ride systems, or stages. Understanding of show set design, animatronics, lighting, and audio-visual integration within a BIM environment Familiarity with visualization tools and virtual/augmented reality for design review and presentation.
