We have an exciting opportunity for a trainee Heating Engineer to join our Greatwell Heating team. Alongside the Gas Safety Supervisor and the Heating Engineers you will learn to carry out annual gas safety checks and the servicing of gas appliances in accordance with safety regulations and Greatwell Homes requirements. You will also undertake all manner of installations, including a range of general repairs and maintenance tasks on heating and hot water appliances and systems within occupied and void properties, ensuring work is completed to a high standard. From May 2025 you will also be inducted on to a 38-week, 1 day release New Entrants Gas course at the Sterling training centre in Corby. After the 38-weeks training you will sit your ACS qualification which is a practical and written assessment. Once qualified, you will be deemed competent and allowed to work on your own with structured Supervision. Greatwell Heating will continue to mentor you and increase your confidence and knowledge for an additional year before promoting you to a full time Greatwell Heating Engineer. What You’ll Be Doing Shadowing Heating engineers and completing supervised gas, heating, hot water and wet works. Providing and promoting high quality customer care to all Greatwell Homes customers. Completing detailed and accurate risk assessments. Ensuring all appointments made are met and completed correctly first time wherever possible, ensuring cost-effective repairs and value for money. Making sure all properties are left safe, clean and tidy following any works, treating all properties, customers and their belongings with respect. Maintaining all company tools and equipment, carrying out the required checks and reporting any faults or defects. Communicating effectively with other Operatives, contractors, associated employees, your mentor, coach and any other representatives from the training provider. About You Be willing to complete the required training for the role. You will have previous experience of working with customers. You will have previous experience using hand tools and power tools. You can work both independently and as part of a team. You have commitment to delivering high quality customer service and commitment to continuous improvement. You will hold a full driving licence. If you have current or previous experience working within the Plumbing and Heating industry but have not managed to get the experience required to complete your training or have a passion for learning new skills but have never had the opportunity to gain the experience and qualifications to get a career within the trade, we urge you to apply for this opportunity.
