Birmingham Children’s Trust continues to go from strength to strength. We are the largest provider of family support and social care services for children, young people and families in the country. Our goal is to become a centre of excellence in both social work and family support.
We have an exciting Care Leaver Apprenticeship Programme and a real opportunity for the right person who wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people within the Trust. Working as a Rights and Participation apprentice worker, you will be supporting children and young people’s voices across the Trust.
Are you someone who has care experience and is a Birmingham Care Leaver?
* We are looking for the right person who can provide information, advice, and advocacy to children and young people based on principles of empowerment, respect, independence, choice, equal access, and anti-discriminatory practice.
* You will be working with children in care, care leavers, and children and young people on child protection plans.
* You will support children and young people to understand their rights and entitlements and ensure that their views are clearly represented.
* You will work directly with children and young people and establish processes for participation that enable their involvement in decision-making and ensure their views are heard and taken seriously.
* You will support key principles such as co-production and consultation, which are important parts of the Trust's approach in shaping and delivering services.
* Do you have a specific focus on supported accommodation?
* Are you someone who can provide advocacy and conduct quality assurance visits?
* We are also looking to develop a young person’s inspector role, which you will help create and support.
* You will need to undertake a Level 3 Youth Worker Apprenticeship and successfully complete level 2 qualifications in English and Maths if you don’t already have these.
Interviews will be held March 2025.
