Senior Mechanical Engineer
Role Overview:
We are experiencing exceptional growth in our mechanical engineering team due to an exciting array of long-term project requests from clients across all four of our market sectors. This growth presents an excellent opportunity for talented senior mechanical engineers with extensive product development experience to join our dynamic technical team.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take on a technical leadership role, working on a diverse range of challenging and high-impact projects, from renowned consumer products and innovative transport solutions to safety-critical medical devices. Your work will make a real difference to people's lives, and you'll collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals to bring products to market that have a meaningful impact.
In this role, you'll work closely with designers, electronics engineers, software engineers, and other teams to create integrated, class-leading designs. The products we design are widely visible and have a significant presence in the market, making it incredibly rewarding to see your work succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the technical direction of projects, solving complex problems and creating innovative solutions.
* Work alongside and guide junior members of the engineering team, ensuring their work aligns with high standards.
* Take ownership of the financial and commercial aspects of projects, including team selection, budgeting, and timescale management.
* Collaborate with clients, presenting technical solutions and providing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
* Work in a fast-paced consultancy environment, adapting quickly and learning new skills to meet project demands.
* Ensure the delivery of high-quality designs that are both visually appealing and functionally effective.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* A 1st or Upper 2nd class degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university, or an equivalent broad-based technical qualification.
* Proven experience in product design and development, using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and computational techniques.
* Experience working with a wide range of manufacturing processes and materials, including low-volume rapid prototyping and high-volume processes like injection moulding.
* A solid track record of delivering exceptional results across a variety of projects.
* Experience managing projects and client relationships, overseeing technical and commercial aspects.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
