About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team in this newly created role based at the Civic Centre Offices. This role sits within Built Environment Team who manage the Council’s commercial and operational properties and community assets.
As the Building and Facilities Security Coordinator your day-to-day activities will be split between facilities management and security provision to the Civic Centre Offices. Your role will involve:
• Being the principal point of contact in relation to building and facility management matters for colleagues, co-located partner organisations and contractors for the Civic Centre Offices.
• Providing proactive facilities management within the Civic Centre Office, for example stock checking of consumables and building compliance checks e.g. weekly fire alarm testing.
• Provision of a security presence for the Civic Centre Offices, including regular walks of the building, internally and externally.
• Coordinating council room bookings and meeting set up requests.
• Implementing site emergency and evacuation procedures.
About You
You be responsible for the day-to-day efficient running of the Civic Centre with a diverse scope of activities included within this role, taking ownership of tasks and providing an excellent level of service.
You will be confident in directly resolving minor issues that arise and know when to escalate more complex problems to other team members.
You will be an approachable and effective communicator that can be trusted to own problems and work these through to a solution.
Your training as a qualified security guard will be key to your success in this role, where you will maintain a vigilant security presence within Civic Centre

Additional Information
Work Location
Due to the nature of this post it is a requirement that the post-holder is located on-site during working hours.
The post-holder will be required to work between the hours of 8:30-5:00 (Mon-Thurs), 8.30-4:30 (Fri).
There may be occasions where the post-holder will be asked to attend other operational buildings on an ad-hoc basis.
