I am looking for a Senior Logistics Professional to work for the Client Organisation (High Speed Two Ltd) responsible for the New High-Speed Rail project in the UK. This is a unique opportunity to oversee logistics on the largest infrastructure project in Europe; lorry movements alone on this project topped 2 million in just one year!
Open to Senior logistics professionals not just from Rail or Construction but could come from aviation, infrastructure, military, automotive, distribution sectors, etc.
The Senior Logistics Manager will lead construction logistics; however, this role isn’t about managing day-to-day logistics but providing a holistic overview, bringing together insight from across the project to build a knowledge base of best practices and ensure the logistics strategy meets the demands of all stakeholders.
This role offers the chance to take a strategic view of logistics performance across multiple Construction Contracts. Working as part of the client team, you’ll lead a team of 3 Area Logistics Managers, collaborating closely with Main Contractors' Logistics Directors to identify trends, share best practices, de-risking, and drive improvements across integrated project teams.
Your focus will be on the bigger picture, analysing performance data, spotting opportunities for improvement, and ensuring environmental and operational efficiencies are achieved across the project.
Through strong relationships, diplomacy, and rapport, you’ll influence processes and support the development of sustainable logistics solutions. You can expect to visit 1-2 sites a week, meeting with contractors' logistics teams to understand their operations and assure standards are being met.
Working Situation
The office location is London, Euston, or Birmingham, and they operate a flexible hybrid working model, working around 2/3 days a week from the office (50/50 office & home), with some travel to the various sites across the project.
Salary
Birmingham: £80,859 - £85,859 + Pen (6:12) + health + 25 days
London: £90,560 - £94,560 + Pen (6:12) + health + 25 days (potentially £99k)
The successful candidate
* A strategic thinker with experience leading logistics on large-scale projects/operations.
* A relationship builder who can work collaboratively across contractors and stakeholders.
* Someone comfortable analysing performance and driving improvements.
* A commitment to supporting environmental and operational benefits at scale.
* Someone who has developed and improved logistics processes.
* Superb influencing skills with the ability to create buy-in when you have no direct authority over stakeholders.
