Our Western Approach facility in Bristol is a centre for advanced engineering, where our teams thrive in an environment built on collaboration, inclusion, and a commitment to making things work better every day.
We are looking for a proactive and versatile HR Business Partner/Advisor to join our team at our GKN Western Approach Site. In this operational and highly collaborative role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality HR support across the organisation, ensuring the effective execution of HR strategies and initiatives. You’ll be the go-to person for HR operations, from employee relations and policy implementation to workforce development and day-to-day HR advisory support. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a broad HR skillset who is ready to make an impact in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
How You'll Contribute
* Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers, handling queries and resolving issues to promote a positive and productive workplace culture.
* Policy Implementation: Ensure that HR policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and consistently applied across the site.
* Talent Management: Support managers with workforce planning, onboarding, and career development, focusing on skills and capability building within the teams.
* Performance Management: Coach managers on effective performance management practices, including goal-setting, feedback, and performance reviews.
* Operational Support: Partner closely with managers to deliver day-to-day HR support, advising on employee relations, absence management, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
* HR Projects: Contribute to and lead HR projects aligned with GKN Aerospace’s broader HR and operational strategy, such as diversity and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement, and retention programs.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and practices, driving efficiency and effectiveness in HR operations.
What You'll Bring
To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
* Proven experience in an operational HR role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Strong background in employee relations, talent management, and HR generalist support.
* CIPD Level 3 (or higher) qualification, or equivalent experience.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
* Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to think on your feet, manage multiple tasks, and handle complex HR challenges with a solutions-oriented approach.
* Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly.
* A team player who can partner with managers to support organizational goals and contribute to the success of the HR team.
You will be a HR Professional with strong commercial awareness, adept at executing HR strategies while aligning with business goals to drive growth and maximise organisational impact.
