Leicester City in the Community has a fantastic opportunity for an Inspires Mentor to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed term basis.
About The Role
The fundamental purpose of this role is to deliver all aspects of the 'Inspires' programme, working with targeted KS3 and KS4 students based at partner school sites.
The aim of the role is to work alongside identified young people who require additional support within mainstream education, particularly those who have become disengaged for a variety of reasons. We are looking for candidates who have a genuine interest in working with young people who may:
* Be underachieving or have low aspirations, low confidence and self-esteem and poor wellbeing.
* Have low engagement/attendance at school.
* Find accessing mainstream education challenging.
Key Responsibilities
* Utilise the brand of Leicester City Football Club to engage those deemed 'hard to reach', at risk or underachieving.
* Work 1:1 or within small groups with identified young people to re-engage them within education and improve in the areas in line with programme outcomes.
* Work alongside outside agencies to create and offer well-rounded support designed to improve identified issues.
* Develop and deliver high-quality resources and sessions.
* Support the development of a range of intervention sessions that seek to engage, enthuse and raise aspirations of Young People.
* Monitor the progress of the project to ensure all data is accurate and appropriately managed.
* Contribute to internal and external monitoring reports in a timely manner to a high standard with detail and accuracy.
* Represent LCitC, when required, at internal/external meetings and publicity events.
* Report, record and resolve any issues with the Education Manager and the Inspires Coordinator.
Who We're Looking For
Essential requirements for the role:
* Experience of working with young people within an education setting.
* Outstanding at engaging Young People and has the ability to gain their trust whilst building and establishing relationships over time.
* Experience of developing relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners at all levels.
* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area.
* Certifications in Safeguarding and/or Emergency First Aid.

37.5 hours, 5 days per week. (You may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends).
Location
LCitC is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions will take place at partner schools/Local Community centres etc. and some aspects of the role will require homeworking, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood.
