Protocol Education is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to join our team and support early years settings across Harlow, Essex. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and contributing to their development in a nurturing and safe environment.
As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a key role in helping children aged 0-5 years learn, grow, and develop their skills through play and structured activities. You will work alongside a friendly and experienced team of educators, providing excellent care and creating a positive, supportive atmosphere in the nursery setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the day-to-day care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Support children’s learning and development by engaging in play-based activities, both indoors and outdoors.
* Help with the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and cognitive development.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in the nursery.
* Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
* Support children during meal and snack times, and assist with personal hygiene routines such as nappy changing and toilet training.
* Observe and monitor children's progress, providing feedback to the Nursery Manager and key workers.
* Adhere to all safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children in an early years setting within the last 3 years is essential.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
* Passionate about working with young children and supporting their growth and development.
* Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and children.
* Flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
* A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
* Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
* Right to work in the UK.
