The established Mental Health Liaison team at Great Western Hospital Swindon is made up of a Team Manager, Senior Practitioner, Band 6 Practitioners, and Consultant Psychiatrist.
What makes mental health liaison an exciting practice area is the unique interplay between physical and mental health which is rarely seen in other settings.
The Liaison Team is split into two specialties: Adults of Working Age covering 18-65 and Older Adults covering 65+. We see patients at all points of their journey—from the first point of contact needing primary care input to the most complex and challenging presentations.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and inspire the team to deliver a high-quality and effective service for service users and carers. Working in partnership with the Team Manager, the post holder will ensure excellent clinical standards are maintained within the team.
This will be underpinned by robust and effective individual and team supervision processes. The post holder will demonstrate in their day-to-day clinical work a high standard of advanced practice, and the role may necessitate working extended hours.
The post holder will work alongside the clinical team to ensure consistently high standards are achieved by delivering evidence-based assessments and risk assessments to inform decision-making.
