Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) Ltd design and manufacture advanced electronics products and systems. The company operates internationally in the communications, defence, security and government services market, and is established as a world-leader in digital signal and video processing on embedded systems.
The company is building upon the commercial success achieved to date, and now needs to appoint an enthusiastic individual to support the management of a rapidly growing inventory.
Responsibilities & Tasks
1. Perform regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
2. Use measuring tools and equipment (e.g., callipers, micrometres, torque drivers and gauges) to verify dimensions, tolerances, and other product attributes.
3. Record and document inspection results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to the production team and management.
4. Conduct, report and communicate spot audits from the production line.
5. Identify and report defects, deviations, or other quality issues, and recommend corrective actions.
6. Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot quality issues and ensure consistent product quality.
7. Maintain a clean and organized inspection area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and inspection protocols.
9. Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
10. Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for improvement and waste reduction.
Skills Required
1. Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or in a similar role is a plus.
2. Strong understanding of technical data such as engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
3. Familiarity with quality standards and inspection techniques (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, etc.).
4. Knowledge of both wire harness (IPC/WHMA-A-620C) and electronics (IPC-A-610) standards.
5. Proficient in using measurement tools and inspection equipment.
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
