Role Description
We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals who can make a valuable contribution to our research as members of our Research Ethics and Integrity Committee (CUREIC).
CUREIC oversees the University’s processes which aim to ensure that research is conducted to the highest standard of rigour and integrity, and that individuals and groups involved in Cranfield’s research are adequately protected from harm, including, but not limited to physical, psychological, emotional, reputational, career or financial harm. External members do not require specialist knowledge or experience, simply a general interest in ethics and research.
In return for your time, expertise, and perspectives we can offer you the chance to:
* Make an impact on society at large
* Become part of an inclusive, engaged Committee
* Develop professional networks
Cranfield is an exclusively postgraduate University that is a global leader for education and transformational research in technology and management. The research and consultancy we carry out for industry, government and business provides our students with a real-world learning environment. Our values are Ambition, Impact, Respect and Community.
We are seeking to appoint a number of individuals as external members of CUREIC. In line with our University values and commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, we would like to ensure the Committee has a diverse representation. We would positively welcome interest from members of faith groups, NHS and industry, as well as from currently underrepresented groups, including women in STEM and individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds.
External members are expected to attend three committee meetings a year at the University with the possibility of some further work between meetings. The appointments will be for three years, with possible renewal for one further three-year term.
To ensure independent scrutiny, the positions of external members are un-remunerated, but appropriate travelling expenses will be covered.
Please send expressions of interest in a covering letter outlining the motivation for contributing to Cranfield’s Research Ethics and Integrity Committee along with any relevant experience, accompanied by a CV. Individuals selected for the shortlist will be invited to an informal discussion with key members of CUREIC.
Please send expressions of interest to:
