Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Coordination: Manage and oversee setting out, alignment, and installation of structural elements, ensuring work meets technical specifications.
2. Quality Assurance: Conduct and document inspections, monitoring compliance with designs, codes, and HS2 standards.
3. Site Supervision: Work closely with project managers, surveyors, and subcontractors to keep the project on track, on schedule, and within budget.
4. Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate with stakeholders including engineers, contractors, and client representatives to address technical queries and maintain smooth operations.
5. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve on-site issues quickly, optimizing productivity while adhering to safety guidelines.
6. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain site records, provide regular updates to project management, and produce detailed reports on project progress and quality.
Essential Skills & Experience
1. Experience in Structural Engineering: Solid background in engineering for major structures such as bridges, viaducts, or tunnels, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
2. Education: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent); CSCS card is essential.
3. Technical Proficiency: Competent in surveying, CAD, and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
4. Health & Safety: Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards specific to structural projects.
5. Communication Skills: Able to communicate complex information clearly to diverse teams and project stakeholders.
6. Organisational Abilities: Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, ensuring efficient site operations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
