Job information
Post No. POSN004265 - Online Classroom Teacher - Alternative Virtual Provision Partnership
Alternative Virtual Provision - Partnership (3 schools)
Full time, fixed term teacher (primary and secondary practitioners)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified teacher to teach online classes in a unique collaboration between three secondary schools in Newport: Llanwern High School, Lliswerry High School, and Newport High School.
These schools have recognised the challenges some of their pupils encounter in terms of school-related anxieties and phobias that are barriers to attending school. These pupils are entitled to the same learning experiences as those who are able to physically attend school, and as such, this innovative, collaborative approach seeks to address this.
We are seeking an innovative and creative individual. Someone who has a desire to work with a different approach, embracing technology to make a difference with some of the most vulnerable pupils in our school communities and across Newport.

* Inspire and motivate pupils
* Follow a bespoke timetable that uses technology innovatively
* Deliver well-planned, online lessons

* Focus on making improvements in attendance
* Re-engage pupils back into mainstream school
* Commit to the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils
* Foster positive relationships with parents and carers
* Support pupils to return to a mainstream setting
This role is a full-time teaching post; however, the successful candidate will also benefit from:
* The flexibility to work remotely
* Autonomous working
* Access to online platforms
* The support of a dedicated teaching assistant
* The opportunity to work across three secondary schools
