We're looking for exceptional people to join our amazing National Careers Service Team, as either a trainee or a qualified Careers Advisers We’re looking for people who like helping people. You may come from a sales, teaching or recruitment background or have some experience in delivering careers advice and enjoy working in a target focussed environment. We’re not looking for someone who ticks every single box, but we’d love you to have an engaging personality to provide a warm and welcoming experience for our customers. You’ll need a can-do attitude to seek out solutions to help our customers to progress their careers. You’ll need to be flexible as every day is different in National Careers Service. As a Careers Adviser you’ll make our customers feel welcome and comfortable when they attend our service. You’ll need to be able to engage with customers from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. You’ll hold 1-1 appointments and group workshops in a wide range of settings, including careers fairs, community and commercial venues along with one-off pop-ups. You'll also need to be organised to manage your diary and complete admin tasks, plus be confident using IT for delivery and admin tasks. We need your skills to empower and encourage customers to develop a career skills action plan and support them in their learning and development whilst monitoring their progress to build their confidence throughout their journey to successfully starting work, learning or both. We provide on the job training and will support you to achieve your Level 4 Certificate in Careers Information and Guidance if you do not currently hold this qualification.
