The Twenty One group are recruiting on behalf of our client; a long established and highly reputable multi disciplined Mechanical and Electrical company who operate primarily within the Oil/Gas and Industrial sectors. Due to expansion an opening has arisen for a Site Manager from a Pipefitting/Fabrication/Welding background to lead a site team on major projects in Shetland.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly into the Senior Management, this role will primarily focus on the successful delivery of Pipefitting/Fabrication and Welding projects on major projects in the Shetlands. The role will be on a rotational basis, where you will spend 2-3 weeks on site and then 1-2 weeks at home. All flights and accommodation will be provided. The successful candidate will come from a similar background background and, ideally, have worked your way up from the “tools” into a management position. experience of managing projects and the ability to manage and motivate the workforce. You must have a strong commercial awareness, have the technical knowledge, a comprehensive understanding of the industry and a proven track record of successfully running teams. Key responsibilities within the role would include:
• Engage with clients and Contract Managers: attend meetings, establish work content, review contract commitments, and consider programme requirements.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures, statutory safety legislation, and best practice guidelines.
• Maintain safe and suitable site conditions for all personnel.
• Conduct inductions for subcontractors and complete required documentation.
• Produce and distribute daily 'Site Reports' detailing progress, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and variations (VOs).
• Manage subcontractors for quality, performance, and safety
• Monitor on-site activities with daily or regular site visits.
• Investigate, report, and address NCRs and variations.
• Conduct Health & Safety audits, Toolbox Talks, and Plant Inspections.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant industry codes and standards.
• Maintain effective, productive, and professional relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Address issues that could hinder the successful award of contracts or project delivery.
