Main duties of the job To take responsibility for delegating, supervising, identifying, assessing, planning implementing and continuously evaluating the care of all patients, within the unit, in partnership with the children and families, ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of each child and their family, facilitating timely discharge, through robust discharge planning and a return to optimal health. Promote and ensure that due regard and respect are given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of children and their families, by all members of the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams. Promote and ensure that the physical environment reflects the psychosocial and developmental needs of children and young people, in terms of play, recreational facilities and educational provision.
