Description
We are seeking a Production Planner & Scheduler to operate at the heart of our manufacturing processes and drive excellence in capacity planning, production scheduling, operational efficiency and customer fulfilment. This is a full-time site-based role at our Brackmills (Northampton) facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Interfacing with the commercial team, compile the master production plan on all filling lines based on customer orders, service levels, forecasts and inventory management;
2. Schedule daily and weekly production in line with the master production plan, engaging with operational teams to account for short-term impact events, deviations, efficiencies and constraints;
3. Monitor and highlight variations to the plan, engaging with operational stakeholders to initiate and progress corrective actions;
4. Plan and schedule up-stream batch mixing to ensure blends are available, interfacing with the technical team on batch sheet preparation;
5. Create and progress SAP-based works orders for all production activity;
6. Integrate the medium to long-term forecasts into the rough-cut capacity plan;
7. Lead the weekly planning forum and monthly capacity review meetings;
8. Take ownership of planning and scheduling KPIs within the site scorecard;
9. Identify new ideas and drive improvement in planning and scheduling processes;
10. Any other activities as may be periodically required to facilitate and support the smooth running of the business.

Stakeholder Relationships
1. Maintain strong, cooperative and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
2. Work closely with purchasing colleagues to ensure material availability to support production requirements;
3. Participate in and contribute to the daily production huddles, and weekly/monthly performance reviews;
4. Ensure adequate bi-directional communication with internal teams including commercial, supply chain, production, engineering.
Person Specification
1. Previous experience in a similar planning role within a manufacturing environment is essential;
2. MRP/ERP system experience is essential, preferably with SAP;
3. Experience in designing, implementing and/or improving planning and scheduling processes will be an advantage in this role;
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
5. Strong organisational, analytical and time-management skills;
6. Adept at problem-solving, with the ability to identify potential issues and coordinate countermeasures to reduce operational risk;
7. Excellent communication skills;
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping;
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
10. Enthusiasm for learning and development;
11. Strong customer service focus.
