Purpose of the role Responsible to the District Operations Manager, with the Production Supervisor, for the day to day running of asphalt plant. In Addition, To undertake the efficient operation of the asphalt plant. Key accountabilities Ensure all instructions relating to health & Safety are followed on site. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping on site. Ensure daily / weekly/ monthly checks assigned to them are completed and signed off. Encourage other staff, by example, to report near hits and forward these as required. Advise the Foreman / Production Supervisor of any developing problems with staff or machinery. Assist the Foreman / Production Supervisor in the management of contractors and visitors With the Foreman/Production Supervisor ensure that all staff follow the requirements of the environmental management system. With the Foreman/Production Supervisor, Ensure all staff follow the requirements of the Quality Management System & provide high quality & service standards. Ensure feed hoppers are kept topped up during production Coordinate deliveries of constituent materials. Will be required to operate Mobile Plant and assist with maintenance around the plant from time to time. To ensure that business operations are performed in accordance with statutory, Group and Regional administrative instructions and procedures in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place. To assist the Production Supervisor in carrying out the Company Quality Assurance scheme. Control and order incoming imported deliveries. To perform any other relevant duties as requested by Management. To ensure that the business/operations are performed in accordance with statutory, Group and Regional administrative instructions and procedures in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place. To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation. HR/October 2010 Page 2 of 2 To promote and communicate Health & Safety requirements to all visitors. Assist Management to ensure smooth running of the day to day business. To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training courses as and when required.
