Care Assistant for a lady 11.5 hours @11.44/hr in TS18 - FTE - £0.0k
Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 7da51583
An opportunity has arisen to provide support to a lady for 11.5 hours per week with all aspects of daily living. She is living with MS in the Stockton area. The hours will be for 3 days a week: 1 hr 30 min on a Sunday morning, 2 hr 30 min on a Wednesday for shower assistance, and 3.5 hours on a Tuesday for morning support, followed by 2 hours of social time and 1 hr 15 minutes each week to assist with bedtime.
We are keen to build a team to cover the hours throughout the week, so you would be expected to cover holidays. Start times are flexible, considering bus timetables, but we are looking for around 8 am and 6.30 pm start times each day.
The successful candidate will be reliable and have a positive approach to work. Experience using a hoist and familiarity with one-person hoisting is desirable, but training will be provided. Ideally, you will have worked as a Personal Assistant before and be comfortable assisting in all aspects of the job, including personal care. You may need to assist with a colostomy and catheter care; training will be given if required.
I live with my husband and our friendly cockapoo. I have had MS for 13 years and now require hoisting for every transfer. I need help getting up, washed/showered, and dressed each morning, as well as assistance with bedtime. There will also be some light domestic duties such as ironing, vacuuming, and emptying the dishwasher or tumble dryer.
We have a large Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) that enables me to get out and about. If you have a clean UK driving license and are over 25, it will be possible to include you on the insurance. This would allow us to go out for a cuppa, shop, visit the garden centre, or take the dog for a walk.
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, with the cost covered by the employer. Funding is through the council and by Direct Payments. Extra hours will be available to cover holidays.
