What you'll be doing:
As the Credit Control Lead, you will oversee our Credit Framework, guiding and optimising processes to support Avon's commercial growth while managing risk. You will lead a high-performing credit management team, develop and implement credit policies, and work closely with key stakeholders across sales, finance, and other teams to ensure financial health and success.
Key responsibilities:
1. Credit Policy & Framework Development: Revamp and implement a credit policy and commercial framework that aligns with Avon's goals, local market needs, and risk appetite. Continuously update and improve credit policies and procedures.
2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a market-based credit management team. Ensure high performance, effective training, and seamless execution of credit policies.
3. Credit Risk Assessment & Review: Oversee the evaluation and approval processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements. Continuously assess and adjust strategies to balance business growth with risk mitigation.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with sales and finance teams to ensure Avon's credit offerings remain a strong value proposition while protecting the company's financial interests.
5. Reporting & Analysis: Provide senior management with insights and regular reports on credit exposure, overdue accounts, bad debt, and financial impact to guide decision-making.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all credit practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining a strong, compliant credit function.
7. Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies to streamline the credit management function, enhancing overall effectiveness and performance.
What We're Looking For
1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Experience: Experience in credit management, with hands-on experience in field activation and management.
3. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of credit risk assessment, collections strategies, financial analysis, and credit management tools.
4. Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Negotiation Expertise: Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution, particularly with customers and internal stakeholders.
7. Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with credit laws and regulations, with the ability to adapt to and learn from local practices.
