Description Survivors in Transition - Ipswich, IP4 1LB Starting £28,000 pro rata, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata benefits 14 hours per week, Fixed term contract for 12 months Office based / Some travel required Reference: 0877 Your role and responsibilities As a member of our passionate and dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in supporting survivors of sexual violence. Utilising trauma-informed practice, you will provide compassionate care, empower survivors, and contribute to the broader mission, vision and values of our organisation. Team Lead Scope of Responsibility: Primarily responsible for overseeing a specific team or group within a department. They manage day-to-day operations, ensure that team members meet their objectives, and provide guidance and support. Decision-Making Authority: Limited to their specific team, focusing on short-term planning and execution within established guidelines. Experience Required: Typically, 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in a support or similar role, including some leadership experience. Key Focus: Operational efficiency, team performance, task management, and immediate problem-solving. You will: oversee high-quality, consistent recruitment processes, including monitoring applications, coordinating interviews, issuing offer letters, and conducting necessary background checks manage the onboarding process by handling employee information, supporting induction, ensuring accurate payroll and pension setup, and tracking probationary periods monitor attendance, sickness, and holiday records, support return-to-work processes, coordinate performance reviews, and assist with employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary procedures, with support from external HR consultants maintain accurate HR records, generate reports on key HR metrics, and assist the Core Team Lead in analysing data to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and ethical guidelines coordinate and schedule training events, maintain training records for compliance, conduct training needs analysis, and develop a monthly CPD/training program in collaboration with Department Leads arrange and conduct exit interviews, issue exit interview questionnaires, and relay relevant insights support policy revisions in collaboration with external HR consultants and ensure compliance with employment legislation oversee staff welfare and motivation, review salaries and job descriptions regularly, administer benefits and reward schemes, and manage the deployment of the staff handbook recruit, induct and manage subcontracted therapists’ compliance and documentation perform any other duties required to support the efficient operation of SiT in relation to HR. You will need: to be motivated, passionate and have a good sense of humour with a minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant field e.g. CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in HR good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices. In addition, you’ll need to have: demonstrable experience in a similar role motivational and supportive attitude exceptional organisational skills proven experience in data management and report generation excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
