As part of the Worcester team, this role will be responsible for manufacturing and welding components on equipment produced by the Group.
You must be focused with a proactive approach to your work and a commitment to completing all tasks to an outstanding quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identify manufacturing requirements, source instructions/drawings required for tasks, understand quality required, and select appropriate tools, materials, and fixings.
2. Identify best methods for assembling components, establish work requirements, consider resources (e.g., equipment to be used), and ensure any equipment used is in a safe and competent manner.
3. Implement the assembly process, undertake the agreed assembling process, review any method changes, respond to minor problems, and inform others if necessary.
4. Evaluate product assembly quality, consider the objective of the task, assess the quality of assembly produced, modify any minor discrepancies, and liaise with relevant departments/supervisors.
GENERAL
1. The job holder will have a current driving licence.
2. Ability to be flexible and work outside core hours on occasion.
3. Travel to other group sites and occasional overseas travel may be required.
4. Must be able to work in the UK without restrictions and meet UK government security vetting criteria.
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
1. TIG welding essential (coded preferred).
2. MIG welding essential (coded preferred).
3. MMA desirable.
4. Must be experienced as a fabricator, not just a welder.
5. Ability to read technical drawings and possess mechanical aptitude and interest.
6. Ability to use manufacturing tools and equipment to perform tasks requiring precision (machine saw, hand saw, air rivet gun, hand drill, welding equipment, etc.).
7. Minimum experience in a similar role: 5 years.
8. Must be eligible for UK security clearance.
